South Africa will probably increase production of table grapes by 2.2 percent this year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.
Output is forecast to increase to 270,000 metric tons in 2008-09, from 264,081 tons last year, the USDA said in a report on its Web Site.
Apple production is estimated to increase 1.1 percent to 720,000 metric tons, while pear output will increase 2.9 percent to 358,000 tons, the department said.
